While asthma may not be a preventable disease, there is much that can be done to prevent flare-ups and continue living an active life. Our registered respiratory therapists and community health workers provide easy-to-follow instruction on:
- Triggers of asthma
- Spacers and medications
- Myths vs. truths about asthma
- Asthma action plans
Families are provided with mattress covers and pillow covers to help reduce exposure to allergens during sleep.
Following class, home visits are available for families of children with asthma to provide continued education, assist in identifying triggers and teach the proper use of medications and spacers.
